Job Summary:
To assist the supervising teacher(s) to ensure students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter which will contribute to their overall development as mature, able, and responsible Christians. The title “Teacher’s Aide” is not indicative of the grade level or subject that will be assigned to you by the Head of School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the supervising teacher in Implementation of the daily program
• Work with the teacher in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up centers and preparing needed materials and supplies (Galatians 6:9)
• Supervise students at lunch and during snack time (1 Peter 5:2-3)
• Establish order in the classroom, cafeteria, playground or on school-related field trips
• Reinforce teacher instruction to students, working with students on an individual or small group basis at the supervising teacher’s direction (1 Corinthians 14:40)
• Help with general housekeeping in the classroom
• Accompany and supervise students going on bathroom breaks, to the library and other activities
• Supervise the classroom when the supervising teacher(s) is out of the room (I Thessalonians 5:11)
• Perform clerical tasks such as taking attendance, making copies, distributing classroom-related materials, maintaining classroom student files, taking attendance, collecting lunch money, collecting papers from students, passing out papers to students, keeping pencils sharpened, keeping track of tallies and writing up daily tally reports (Proverbs 16:3)
• Demonstrate the following character qualities: enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance and punctuality (Matthew 5:16)
• Keep all (students, parents, staff) personal and medical information confidential (Proverbs 21:23)
• Be familiar with emergency protocols
• Provide input and constructive recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school
• Support the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible (Philippians 2:4)
• Other duties that may be assigned by supervisor (Colossians 3:23)
Job Skills and Competencies:
• Education Level – high school diploma or a GED equivalent
• Demonstrate a reasonable level of computer literacy, having a basic proficiency in doing word processing, emailing and accessing the Internet
• Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech and actions toward others
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills
• A dependable team player who understands unity and works well with people (Ephesians 4:3)
Other Qualifications:
• Regular attendance at a local Bible-believing church
• Keep the ministry in the forefront of all you do, with a servant heart and optimistic attitude (Philippians 2:3)
• Conduct yourself in a manner that reinforces the core values and mission of Calvary Chapel and agree to our Statement of Faith
• Function as a productive part of the church staff and attend staff meetings in coordination with direct supervisor (1 Peter 4:10)

Compensation: $13.00 per hour
