Job Summary:
The Elementary Assistant Principal will assist the Elementary Principal in overseeing the K-4 instructional staff, including teachers and instructional aides, to support the Elementary Principal in providing leadership and administration which will motivate instructional and support personnel to strive for superior performance so as to provide the best possible opportunities for student growth and development, both educationally and spiritually. The Elementary Assistant Principal will assist the Elementary Principal with responsibilities of the school’s operation during the Elementary Principal’s absence.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Assist the Elementary Principal in all efforts to ensure that a biblical, Christ-centered perspective is integrated into all aspects of the school (1 Peter 5:2-3)
• Maintain an excellent working knowledge of all policies, procedures, and handbooks
• Provide an elementary school environment that is Christ-centered, safe, professional, academically challenging, and encouraging (Matthew 5:16)  
• Maintain professional and effective relationships with the administrative team (Philippians 2:4)
• Initiate, lead, and assist with elementary school events and activities (1 Corinthians 14:40)
• Assist with general supervision of elementary school students
• Assist the Elementary Principal with counseling and discipline of elementary school students
• Assist with supervision and evaluation of elementary school faculty and staff
• Assist with professional development opportunities for elementary faculty and staff
• Effectively communicate with students, parents, faculty, and staff (Ephesians 4:29)
• Participate in admissions interviews (1 Peter 4:10)
• Participate in elementary school parent conferences (Colossians 3:17)
• Assist with elementary school division meetings
• Assist with elementary school budget line items (Proverbs 16:3)
• Provide oversight of elementary school curriculum and instruction
• Understand and promote the integration of a biblical worldview in all aspects of curriculum and instruction
• Formally/informally monitor academic achievement/progress of students
• Coordinate with the Elementary Principal to ensure elementary curriculum documents are current and accurate
• Perform other duties as assigned by Elementary Principal, Head of School, or Assistant Head of School (Colossians 3:23)

Job Skills and Competencies:
• Have earned a master’s degree in education or another related field 
• Have taught for a minimum of three (3) years
• Have already obtained or will obtain ACSI Administrative Certification during the first year of employment
• Know and effectively use a computer and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher
• Possess leadership and knowledge of elementary school instructional programs
• Use excellent written and oral English skills when communicating with students, parents, and colleagues
• Possess the ability to prioritize ministry, time management, incident(s), & service-related items effectively and efficiently
• Possess the ability to budget time and effort
• Demonstrate a positive attitude toward self-evaluation and self-improvement
• Possess the ability to delegate effectively in order to accomplish God’s goals (Ephesians 4:16)
• Possess the ability to identify and utilize God’s giftings in others (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
• Respect differences of opinions and foster open communications among staff
• Be able to engage the school staff members toward strengthening their own spiritual growth and the spiritual climate of the school
• Able to maintain confidentiality of all personal information (Proverbs 21:23)
